Bronte: Me and my Boots by Penny Harrison and illustrated by Evie Barrow

Meet Bronte and her boots. They are her favourite boots and she wears them all the time!

When Bronte puts on her boots she knows who she is and who she wants to be. She knows what she likes and dislikes, what she is proud of and who she can be. They are the best boots around!

Written in rhyme, Penny Harrison has captured the oozing happiness from this little girl as she surrounds herself with the people she loves and the things she loves to do.

She knows that sometimes people see her boots differently or call her boots names they don’t need but it never seems to bother her as she knows the most important thing is to be herself.

Evie Barrow’s illustrations capture the playful nature of Bronte as she skips through the pages, leaping into trees, learning at school and scooting around with friends.

Bronte is a true idea of positivity and an example to show how important it is to believe in yourself and not to worry about what others think.

Knowing how to believe in yourself despite the comments and views from others can be hard, but Bronte seems to be able to do it – with the trusting nature of her boots, the confidence boost they give her, she can do anything!

Me and my Boots is part of a ‘Bronte’ series soon to be released and I can’t wait to see what else Bronte can show us!
